Welcoem to CPN new year party!

Dear all,

The Chinese new year is at the corner. It's the time for us to have the party again! You and your family members are warmly invited to our party on Saturday, 9th Feb!

This year CPN is going to have the celebration in a reception style. We have invited some (over 40) Norwegian guests of responsible persons from the organizations that have cooperation with China. H.E. mrs. Gao, Jian from the Chinese embassy will come also.

With the invitation poster to our own members, I would give you more background information and requirements on behalf of CPN board.

Program

Our major agenda will be focused on the communication /chart among Chinese and Norwegian participants. The aim is to provide such a platform in order to enhance and promote Chinese culture and cooperation between two countries. At end, you will get to know some new friends.

The party will be organized by only CPN for our own members and families. New members are of course welcome. There will be three parts for the afternoon and evening:

1. Communication among participants with finger food, drinks, and fruits (15.00-16.15)
2. Performance (16.20-17.50)
3. Dancing, singing koala OK, chart and playing etc.

The arrangement is based on the suggestions from our members and decided by the board members. We bought a set of used sound equipment to ensure the sound high enough to be heard by each one in place. Still we hope we all keep quite when the performance going on to show the respect to others and their work. We met this problem before since we had bad sound equipments.

Food and drinks

By now, we are going to make five kinds of Chinese small finger food below:
# Dumplings
# Cake of soft rice
# Spring rolls
# One type of Sushi kind
# Bread with meat and other staff

New ideas and helpers are welcome! We still open this menu until the end of this month. We want suggestions of special products, but easy to make and eat. Your idea can be sent to Yu Jing, at lunarlar@gmail.com. CPN will pay you to make food if you could organized people to do it. We appreciate very much your ideas and helps.

Wish some of us can bring a bottle of wine, although we provide soft drinks. We are trying to have some wine also.

Help needed

Fashion show has been made in the first CPN new year party with big success in 2004. Many have suggested this again. This time we are going to have gentleman in the show. The team leader and some team members are in place already. Two more men are needed to the team. Please inform you to Xiuhua Zhang xiuhuaz@hotmail.com or 99705188 within Sunday 17th.

6-8 people to make decoration and place food before the party. We will meet 13.00 pm. Please inform you to Xiuhua Zhang xiuhuaz@hotmail.com or 99705188.

Requirement

Prof. Xu, the parent to our member, XU fei, will write your name on a small card in Chinese calligraphy as we did last time when we had CPN moon festival. You will get it from the registration desk. It's impossible to write your name there. All name cards are preferred to be written in advance. We require you to give your Chinese name with registration to Dr. Liu Fang, at cpn_cny2008@hotmail.com. You can take a digital photo if you don't have Chinese program or call her at 91523180.

As many have been to CPN party before, we still use the same place in the research park. The most important thing is Don't even try to open any windows or doors, which are connected to the security system. Please take good care of your children. We have only one entrance to the party, the front door. The door can only be opened 60 seconds each time. When many come, you have to wait a moment. Some our members will serve to open the door.

We encourage strongly that all participants dress formally and make good charts with each other. Give your nice dress a chance to be seen! Chinese new year is our own festival. We all had experienced that we always had new dresses when we were kids for the new year. This is just like the Christmas even here and people dress formally. This is to show the respect to our own festival. We would like to see all of us in a happy mood to be actively involved in the party including the nice dress.
