ERAS multicultual festival at Youngstorget on Saturday 13th June 2009

Dear all,

As Dasheng mentioned before, CPN will continue last-year's success and join this year's ERAS multicultual festival at Youngstorget on next Saturday, 13th June. This festival is supported by EMI of Oslo Kommune and arranged by 25 immigrant organizations from all continents. Please see the included poster for more details.

The festival will start with opening's ceremony by speakers from vice Oslo Mayor and represents of Oslo Kommune. After the opening ceremony is the ERAS parade. The parade will be leaded by polity horses and an uniformed music-corps. The trevel route of parade is from Youngstorget - Karl Johans gate - Universitetplass - Store Torget - Youngstorget.

The shows start at Youngstorget after the parade. The programs of the fetival cover a wide range of musics and danses from all corners of the world, and by both amateur and professionals. Examples of the programs are Street dans, Ayekantun and "Klovnen Chilli barneshow" for children, and sang/dance from Oslo Music School, belly dance from Madam Qadam School, Hip Hop, etc. We will also enjoy the shows from several famous groups such as "Xclusive", "Pink Diamond lady Crew", and "Whites and Reds" rock band. CPN together with other Chinese groups will contribute with 4 programs: Chinese national dance (children), CPN DUO fiolin & piano, YI minority dance (彝族舞蹈), and CPN choir.

There will be set up over 20 tents in Youngstorget. Here you will find information about different organizations, cultures and countries where the immigrants come from, and you can taste the delicious food from different nations. There is also a tent for children. It will arrange special programs for children such as
- Ansiktsmaling (face paint)
- Tegne- og male konkurranse (drawing competation)
- Trommeworkshop (drum workshop)
- Sirkusskole (circus school)
- Salsa kurs for children (and parents :-))
- ...

It will be great fun for both adults and kids! Hope all CPN members can join this big event. Su Ji has made a buatiful flag for CPN recently. We need more people to follow our flag in the parade. It is a good chance to promote Chinese in a positive way! CPN participants will meet at Youngstorget 11:30 on Saturday. Our makeup specialist, Wen Hongying will do make up for ladys. Bring your Chinese and Norwegian flags if you have. You can also take kids with you ;-) Please invite your friends and colleagus to come as well.
See you next Saturday!

Best Regards,

Wang Xinli
