CPN seminar about China Hydroelectric Project Construction
Dear all,
We are very pleased to invite Dr. Weibiao Wang to give us the first CPN talk of 2009. Dr. Wang from Department of Geosciences, UiO, is also a professor at the Institute of Hydroelectric Engineering, Xi'an University of Technology. He has more than 20 year's working experience on hydroelectric engineering. He will talk about the Chinese Hydroelectric project construction in general aiming for a broad audience. Thus, everybody is encouraged to join this seminar.

China Hydroelectric project construction
-taking the Three Gorges Project as a case study

This lecture briefly introduces the distribution of hydropower resources and the present hydropower development as well as the development strategy in China. The general structural types of dams are explained by using a few projects as examples and Chinese hydroelectric engineering achievements are presented. The layout and construction process of hydroelectric project is demonstrated by the Three Gorges Project case study.
