Our goal is to help you (further) strengthen your financial knowledge, security, and integration into Norwegian society.

The project is organized by CPN (Chinese Professionals in Norway), with support from Oslo Municipality.

Getting to know insurance in Norway

💡 What to Expect

In our first seminar (106 persons originally from 7 countries registered), we explored pensions, savings, and investments in Norway, focusing on building wealth. Now, we turn our attention to protecting it — another key aspect of financial security: insurance.

Insurance helps safeguard you, your family, and your belongings from unexpected events such as illness, accidents, or damage to your home. This seminar will mainly cover:

• How the public and private insurance systems work in Norway
• Which types of insurance are mandatory vs. optional
• How to compare and choose policies
• Practical tips and key considerations for buying insurance

There will also be time for questions and open discussion, as well as a short preview of our next session:

Christian Haraldsen

Communication Manager, Pension & Insurance, Gjensidige

Christian has over 16 years of experience in communications at Gjensidige and previously worked as an economics journalist for Finansavisen and Aftenposten.

He holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH).
