Are you seeking a job or aspiring to be an entrepreneur? Are you currently employed and wish to become happier and more effective in your work environment? We are pleased to announce our 2nd workshop on Employment, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, to be held on December 7th. The main objectives of this workshop are to enhance your communication skills with colleagues and leaders, and to strengthen your entrepreneurial capabilities in areas such as company registration, development, marketing, networking, and project management. These skills are crucial for employees, new startups, and anyone looking to improve their abilities in these aspects.

Chinese Professionals in Norway (CPN) is a professional and immigrant organization that has through previous work built up on strong competence in helping immigrants with job searches, understanding the Norwegian business cultures, and developing ideas for becoming entrepreneurs. CPN has through its highly educated members built a broad contact network in Norwegian society, in addition to close cooperation with other immigrant organizations and the public sectors that manage instruments for innovation.

The workshop is financed by the Oslo municipality via the project entitled "Go for a job or an entrepreneur?". It will be held in English and Norwegian, free of charge. All attendees must register online at https://cpn2003.no/CCI/2302/ due to the food reservation. The deadline for registration is 05 December 2023.

Speakers

Dr. Linmei Nie

PhD in Hydraulics from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). She has been a general manager for Foundation CSDI WaterTech, Centre for sustainable development and innovation of Water Technology since 2015; Adj. Professor for several universities. She has been working for the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE); Associate Prof. at the Norwegian University of Life Science and Research Scientist for SINTEF Building and Infra., CPN Bord member since 2022.

Xiaotao Li

Xiaotao got his double Master’s Degrees in Marine Engineering and Maritime Law from Dalian Maritime University in 2006. Recently he earned an Executive Master of Management in Energy from BI and IFP School. Xiaotao served as general manager for China Classification Society (CCS) Nordic branch office for 7 years, and as a senior marine surveyor in Nordic countries for 10 years. Now he is CEO of a startup YATOO Ocean AS mainly responsible for renewable and nuclear development. At the same time, Xiaotao is also the co-founder and chairman of the Norway-China Association for Science and Technology Exchange with a good network between Norway and China.

Annie Chen

Annia has a Bachelor, Political Eonomics at Peking University in China; Master in Economics at the Minzu University of China; and Master in Social Change, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Sha has been a Head of section, Oslo Municipality, Water and Wastewater Agency for 10 years, and Geodata manager Bærum municipality since Oct. 2017 – Now. Annia will share her experience with us how to develop, grown-up and be lucky in an Norwegian working environment.

Emily Zhang

Emily Zhang is Recruitment Team lead in NES Advantage Solutions Group AS. She holds a master's degree in international marketing from INSEEC Paris as well as MBA degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. She has over 20 years of experience as a professional HR, headhunter and career advisor for many international companies: e.g. Aker Solutions, Kværner, Aibel, Hübner and DNV etc.

Emily has been working as a headhunter and recruiter in Norway since 2011. She talks with hiring managers and candidates every day, building bridges for both sides. Emily has experience with outplacement program as well. She has a lot of valuable insights to share with you, and to help you to get a dream job.
